How and Where to Claim a Thai Government Lottery Prize

What to do after a possible win, which documents to prepare, where to verify claim channels and how to protect the original ticket.

After a possible win, stop sharing images of the ticket, secure the original, verify the result through Thailand’s Government Lottery Office and check which official payment channel handles that prize. A website or app can assist with the first comparison, but the physical ticket and the paying authority’s examination determine the claim process.

The GLO prize-claim process page lists two basic items to prepare: the winning ticket signed on the back and a valid identification card. The published process includes obtaining a queue slip, having the claim handled and receiving payment subject to the applicable stamp duty or tax.

What to do after finding a match

  1. Recheck the year, draw date and ticket number on the GLO website.
  2. Keep any private record without posting the complete number or QR code.
  3. Protect the ticket from moisture, folds and further damage.
  4. Sign the back according to GLO instructions.
  5. Prepare a valid identification card.
  6. Review the current GLO prize-payment channels.
  7. Keep any receipt or record issued by the payment channel.

If the ticket is damaged, unclear or disputed, do not attempt to repair or alter it. Ask GLO about its preliminary ticket-verification procedure.

Where can a Thai lottery prize be claimed?

The answer depends on the prize category, number of tickets and services currently available. GLO maintains a payment-channel page and an online queue service. Check the official page before travelling because bank limits, service locations, document rules and transfer limits can differ.

Do not hand the ticket to an unverifiable intermediary, and do not prepay a fee through a message link that claims to arrange prize collection.

Stamp duty and tax

The GLO prize conditions state that a Government Lottery prize is subject to stamp duty of 1 baht for every 200 baht of prize money or fraction of 200 baht. Tax or fee treatment for other lottery products or payment routes can differ, so review the payer’s current terms instead of relying on an old article.

How Lotto Go fits before a claim

Review the ticket saved in Lotto Go, then compare it with the six-digit number-checking guide and the GLO result. Lotto Go can indicate which prize category may match, but it does not hold the physical ticket, pay prizes or establish legal eligibility.
